Scientific director of International Morphological Center D.A. Starchik has made a presentation about plastination and its usage in preparation of educational anatomical specimens.

Each guest prepared a presentation about the experience of making educational expositions, conducting scientific research, actual problems of the using anatomical specimens in the educational process and methods for problems’ solution.

Our guests had a guided tour in “Anatomical Hermitage” in the Department of Clinical Anatomy. They were told about the history of anatomical exhibition in our university, and types of embalming. New specimens were demonstrated, prepared by the plastination method in International Morphological Centre.  Director of the Estonian Health Museum, Margus Jurkatam , underlined in his presentation that exhibits, made by polymeric embalming method made in the IMC for his museum ,  attract a huge amount of visitors.

Later a round table discussion was organized, where guests talked about possible forms of further cooperation. The participants discussed the necessity of regular meetings, organization of joint activities in the field of preparation of anatomical specimens.

In the evening, the participants of the meeting went to the Kunstkamera, where special tour was organized for them. Guests were very satisfied by the event.

“Plastination Workshop in Murcia, Spain December 13-16, 2016”
It is the pleasure to inform you of the XVIth Edition of our Plastination Courses in Murcia, Spain. The basic principles of silicone plastination (S10 Technique) will be held on December 13-14, and sheet plastination (P40 and E12 Techniques) will be held on December 15-16.
